Ballistic Shield Familiarization

The Ballistic Shield Familiarization hosted by TOG is a two-day course designed to familiarize students with the use of Ballistic Shields. At the conclusion of the course students should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of operating a shield, moving with a shield, manipulating the shield with duty weapon and overall knowledge base of shield operations.
LAST DAY TO REGISTER IS TBD (call if you miss the cutoff date). Any cancellation must be received 30 days prior to the start date. Any cancellation after this period will incur the full cost of the registration, unless otherwise approved by TOG.

The tactical shield can be a very effective tool for tactical teams as well as first responders utilizing during active shooter situations even though many agencies fail to understand the full potential of this versatile piece of equipment. This course will explore the many uses of the tactical shield
EQUIPMENT NEEDED & PROPER ATTIRE:
• Agency Ballistic Shield
• 350 rds. handgun (required)
• Ballistic Vest
• Eye Protection
• Ear Protection
• BDU’s or training uniform as per department policy
• Hydration Drinks
• Meal Bars
• Notebook
• Pen
• Rifle or Sub Gun (optional for familiarization) 100 rds.
RTS Tactical Shields will be onsite for use, however, due to departmental SOP’s it is recommended students bring their current shields provided by their agency.
